If you're Interested in creating an eTalent and don’t know how to do it, or if you are a cultural manager and have decided to join our community, we give you the necessary steps to carry out your project.
The first thing you should know is that eTalents are talent competitions for whose settlement it would come in handy to state some things beforehand! You will need to make up your mind about things similar as the following:
The theme!
Which could be photography, poetry, cooking, etc. or any area you can think of!
You can give it a personal touch being more concise. For example, you can
create a competition for Christmas tales or a photo contest about nature.
There are hundreds of combinations and good ideas.
Which audience you're running the contest for?
Youth or a more grown-up audience? Are you making a contest for amateurs or experts?
It is important that, if you want to direct your contest to a certain level,
you make it clear in the rules, so there won't be any misunderstandings.
The award you could offer
The award you could offer; whether economic or with a non-economic prize of any kind.
Are you trying to make money out of the contest?
In order to do so, we recommend you that you look for Sponsoring companies.
That is, companies of the sector that are willing to help you in your project
collaborating with products or money in exchange of some type of advertisement
in your contest such as placing your logo in the space that we leave for it or
mentioning them as your partner indicating their support whenever you can in the
bases, title, prizes, etc.
Once you have fulfilled these steps, you are off to a great start!
First of all, you must register in www.rookiebox.com and complete your Rookieboxer profile. When you have the basic information stated at your profile, you will have to access the area of eTalents that you'll find in the left sidebar of the web. In it, you will be able to consult those competitions that are already created so you’re aware of what type of contests are more convincing and which ideas can be more successful!
To create your own, you must go to the section eTalents of your profile, where you will find the option "Add ETalent" and, with a single click of your mouse, you will be introduced to the process of creating your very own contest.
Next, we explain the different phases of this process: First, you will have to give a Title to your eTalent: think of something clear and concise that would attract the attention of different artists and that would represent your goals. If you are planning to run the contest yearly, you can also indicate the edition. Get on with your project, as each year you will achieve more participants!
The next step is a brief Description of the contest: its theme, award and the basic rules. It should be clear and with as little confusion as possible, as it will be the way of introducing your project.
Also, as you progress creating the eTalent, you can add a poster and/or a video. It's the perfect time to make the most of your creativity, do something attractive and unique! Think that it should be the claim for the participants and, if you have sponsors, it would be the ideal time to thank them for their collaboration within the project.
The video! You don’t always have do it yourself! It could be a video from the association to which you will direct the funds raised in case of solidarity, a presentation of the project, etc. But remember that, if it is not yours, you must comply with the rules of intellectual property!
Once you have this whole section, if you would like to do so, you could write, on the one hand, the date and a time limit to be able to enroll in the contest. Think thoroughly about it! Once you state this info, we do not recommend changing it unless there are causes that scape your control.
You should think about stablishing a sufficient period of time so the rest of users of the community can upload their works. However, it shouldn’t be so long that it would make the process tedious and boring.
On the other hand, we will ask you the date and time of the start and end of the voting of the jobs submitted in case you would like to run it though a popular jury; as well as the date and time of the publication of the winners.
A continuación, el siguiente paso a seguir consiste en la redacción de las reglas del eTalent que quieres crear que deberán permanecer inmutables a lo largo del concurso y cumplirse para asegurar su correcto funcionamiento.
Then, the next step is to write the Rules of the eTalent you want to create and that must remain unchanged throughout the contest while being fulfilled to ensure its proper functioning. You can Attach a file with more elaborated and detailed rules and add, if necessary, a authorization for minors or persons with special needs.
If you don’t clearly understand the difference between the professional and the popular jury and how to run the voting together with them, we give you some brushstrokes:
The popular jury is made up of any user of Rookiebox that would like to vote the work of your contest by giving a score out of ten and, of course, depending on their preferences. You will not be able to veto or select which people have the right to vote. This way of running the voting is the best choice when you want your friends, family and members of the community that vote in your eTalent to choose the winner.
The professional jury will be formed by a number of people that you choose and who must be professionals or people recognized in the subject of the contest. They will vote on the works presented and choose those they consider to be of greatest work submitted.
The mixed jury will be formed by both groups, so you can give a percentage to each one of them and so that the winner is chosen by both the members of Rookiebox and professionals of the sector.
You also have the possibility to choose in the next step the maximum and minimum limits for participants and age of the participants themselves.
Finally, to follow up the development of your eTalent, you can set the different prices, that is, you can choose both the registration and the vote are free or payment, taking into account that, if it is the second case, 10% of the price asked will be deducted, as it is destined to management expenses.
We recommend that you value your work and that you shouldn’t be afraid about asking for a price! In contrast, at the same time, you must be realistic and offer quality eTalents that contribute something to the community, because that will be the only way that the rest of users will be interested in your project.
Once you make all these steps, you only have to read the rules of use of Rookiebox and accept them, You've got your eTalent!
Now you only have to publish it whenever you want it to start working.
